Prague is the most beautiful city in the world – the City of a Hundred Spires and, perhaps, a City of a Hundred Passages, too.
A city that captivates with its history, diversity, elegance, and hidden pathways that connect the old with the new. Along these pathways are Prague’s passages – unique spaces where lives have unfolded, stories have been written, and which still carry a quiet sense of power and magic.
They are places that can calm, surprise and inspire – if only we give them the attention they deserve.
The Prague Passages project was born from a desire to bring these hidden places into the spotlight and reveal their importance to the city, its culture and everyday life. Our goal is to map more than one hundred passages and present them not simply as architectural landmarks, but as living spaces – places of encounters, experiences, memories and contemporary life.
We want to share their atmosphere with everyone who loves Prague and wants to discover the city through a different lens.
The project was founded by Veronika Blažková, a native of Dejvice and a resident of Prague 1. She has spent many years working in culture, art and media, with experiences that eventually led her to this fascinating urban world.
She studied photography back in the days of traditional film, when every image demanded time and patience. Throughout her work, she has sought to capture the atmosphere of the city not only through images, but through stories as well.
“Prague is my hometown – the most beautiful city in the world. It is known as the City of a Hundred Spires, and I would love to introduce it as a City of a Hundred Passages, too – a city full of hidden pathways that carry memories, rhythm and stories.”
— Veronika Blažková
Her professional and personal journey has long been intertwined with the city centre – a place she sees as the heart of Prague and an endless source of inspiration.
This website is more than a map of passages. It is a personal love letter to Prague.
We believe that these passages can come alive again – becoming places where people meet, discover beauty, take a moment to pause, or simply lose themselves in the atmosphere.
Places that connect generations, moods and moments in time.
All it takes is to step inside… and let yourself be drawn into their world.
